Rock Anchors – Whangamoa Roading Shut-Down
Client
Fulton Hogan.
Location
Rai Saddle end of Whangamoa Roading Shut-Down.
Drilling Project Details
This project was due to extreme slips on the road between Nelson and Blenheim.
Fulton Hogan requested our assistance with the Whangamoa Roading shut down. We provided a Casagrande C6 rig, specialist tooling, Copco compressor and skilled operators. We had to drill and install a large number of inclined and vertical anchors in a significant underslip on the Rai Saddle end of the shutdown.
Our drilling and anchor installation was completed in extra quick time, we installed over 1,200 metres of rock anchor across three sites. This allowed Fulton Hogan Civil teams to commence the construction of the retaining wall as quickly as possible.
