CW Drill Projects
-
Seismic Retrofit – Kaiteriteri Home
This project involved the drilling and installation of 36 anchors to stabilise an existing retaining wall and basement of a home in Kaiteriteri, Tasman after Cyclone Gita.
-
Geological Drilling – Stanton & Leader Landslides
A series of PQ size core holes through the big landslides after the 2016 earthquakes. ‘Kaikoura EIL Research’ want to understand why this happened to try and help prevent future failures.
-
Geotech Drilling – Tunnel 21 Seddon
Geotechnical project carried out for T&T and KiwiRail. Due to Kaikoura earthquake this tunnel was damaged and the hill was to be cut down to ‘Daylight the Tunnel’, out work was to identify strata.
-
Geotechnic & Anchor Drilling – Matiri
Project involved extensive Geotech Drilling to understand the formation of work environment, then drilling and installing RB32 anchors through colluvium and into basement rock.
-
Bollards – Shakespeare Bay, Picton
A really interesting project undertaken with Ranui Construction for Ports Of Marlborough. Drilling was in a very tight work-space and at multiple angles to successfully complete the project.
-
Retaining Wall – Motueka Valley
Extensive damage due to Cyclone Gita. Project included earthworks and excavation, large diameter holes for cemented retaining wall posts, drilling and installation of anchors to support completed wall.
-
Mine Site Drilling – The Globe, Reefton
Nice to return to a work site where we have done exploration drilling for over 20 years. This project involved drilling a series of holes to intersect an old mining tunnel/drive, 90 metres below the bottom of the old Globe Pit.
-
Geotechnical Drilling – Nelson Airport
Project involved a series of drill holes for geotech purposes to determine liquefaction risks for the new Nelson Airport terminal and replacement DVR. Challenges included working in the landing flight path.
-
Exploration Drilling – West Coast
Immediate drilling required in remote and extremely steep country all within typical dense West Coast bush.
-
Geotechnical – Cardrona Ski Field
Drilling a single core hole in PQ TT to 25 metres and carrying out SPT testing at 75m intervals. Access over busy ski-lanes and soft snow covered ground were just 2 of the challenges.
