Water Drilling Projects

Moutere Formation:

Numerous domestic and irrigation bores up to 400 metres deep.

Motueka shallow gravel:
Multiple irrigation bores drilled into lower Motueka River gravel formation for frost protection purposes.

Geotechnical Projects
Mataura:
A series of geotechnical boreholes for Trustpower for a proposed windfarm. 

Mokohinui:
An extensive drill programme carried out in the Mokohinui Gorge for Meridian Energy for a proposed hydro scheme.

Waihopai Valley:
Multiple coreholes drilled for proposed irrigation dam, with packer testing in rock formation. 

Pike River Coal:
Multiple bored drilled to determine strata underlying old gold workings at Ikimatua, for Pike River Coal load out facility.

Picton Foreshore Redevelopment:
Both land based and barge mounted drilling carried out.

State Highway 1:
Russley Road widening - Drilling and Perculation Testing.

Irrigation Dam:
Extensive Drill programme to access formation for possible large scale irrigation dam.  HQTT Core and Regular Lugeon Testing carried out.

Construction Projects
Nelson Water Treatment Plant:

A joint venture between Fulton Hogan and MWH NZ Limited which required the installation of several hundred rock anchors with galvanised mesh installed.


Nelson City Council:

Drilling and installation of multiple rock anchors for new retaining wall on Stansell Avenue.

Several Retaining Walls completed with multiple Rock Anchors on Cleveland Terrace.


Stewart Island:
Soil Nails/Anchors installed behind the "Red Shed" on Stewart Island.  Project carried out in conjunction with Fulton Hogan/MWH.

Franz Joseph/Whataroa:
Three bores drilled to various depths, for the installation of seismographs.  Project carried out for Victoria University, to continue study of the South Islands main alpine fault.

Nelson:
Large slip failure behind Nelson home.  Required extensive anchoring to retain hillside.  Anchors used in conjunction with macaferri products.  Project undertaken for Swanney Geotechnical.











 

Mining Projects
Ohai Mine:
Coal exploration at Solid Energy's Ohai Mine in Southland.

Niagra 1:
A re-entry of an old oil exploration well. 

Oceana Gold:
Geotechnical drilling for pit expansion, Globe Progress.

Birchfield Mining:
Coal Exploration, Reefton area.

Francis Mining:
Coal Exploration, Reefton area.
