Drilling Project Brief Project involved drilling a single core hole in PQ TT to 25 metres carrying out SPT testing at 75m intervals.
The major challenge to this interesting project was gaining access over busy ski lanes and soft snow covered ground conditions, we required assistance with a snow groomer to tow our Hanjin 8D rig to site. This rig was selected due to its light weight, and low ground pressure required to gain access over in some places very soft deep snow. We were also assisted greatly with Cardrona staff making access to / from the site on a daily basis easy with a quick ride on a skidoo.

Soft and deep snow ground conditions. Gaining access through busy ski lanes. Very cold working environment.
The drilling was completed on time, and within budget, with good recovery in tricky ground. Other than being very cold, the weather for the duration of the job was perfect.
